Charity - Engagement in our Communities
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest social and charitable organisations. Rooted in values of integrity, friendship, respect, and charity, Freemasons are committed to making a positive impact in their communities. Charity is at the heart of Freemasonry, and members contribute millions of pounds each year to local and national causes.
Freemasons support:
- Medical research and healthcare initiatives
- Disaster relief efforts
- Youth and education programmes
- Support for vulnerable people, including the elderly and those with disabilities

Some of the support provided in the Bailiwick
The Province of Guernsey and Alderney is part of the UGLE and has a proud tradition of charitable giving and community involvement. Local Freemasons regularly support:
- Hospices and care homes
- Youth organisations
- Emergency services
- Community projects that enhance wellbeing and inclusion
They also host events and fundraising activities that bring people together and raise awareness for important causes. It should be noted that all money raised is from Freemasons, we don’t collect money from the public. But it’s not all about money, we also provide time to assist those who just need a helping hand.
Masonic Charitable Foundation
Funded entirely through the generosity of Freemasons and their families, the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the largest grant-making charities in the country.
