The lodge was sponsored by Victor Carey Lodge No. 6892 to advance the Masonic knowledge of those who have passed through the Worshipful Masters chair. This is achieved by inviting guest speakers, usually from off the Island.

Membership of the Lodge is open to Past Masters of any Lodge within, or outside of the Province providing their own Lodge is recognised by UGLE. Unattached Past Masters are also permitted to join.

Mastership of the Lodge is allocated on a rotational basis according to a list drawn up by the founders. The offices in the Lodge are allocated to a Lodge, not a single brother, a brother represents his Lodge in that office for one year.
