Our lodge was founded in 1896 following sponsorship by Lodge Fidelis number 1809.

Our membership comprises men from a variety of backgrounds, brought together by an interest in freemasonry and that unique bond which grows with us as we progress through the various ranks in masonry. Some of our members have served the Lodge for over 40 years and still enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that is integral to this honourable institution.

Looking back in history, Freemasons living in St Sampsons and Vale parishes found it challenging to attend the lodge building in St Peter Port; and so, by forming a new lodge that met at The Bridge, our membership was very strong throughout those early years.

After the war, the Lodge moved to Le Marchant Street in St Peter Port alongside all other Guernsey Lodges. St Sampsons met there until 1998 when the masonic centre in St Martins was opened, and this is where we still meet today.

St Sampsons Lodge is twinned with De Carteret Lodge Number 3459 in the Province of Jersey. Both lodges were temperance lodges until 1982.

We currently have 45 members in the Lodge. Our meetings are held in the evening on the first Tuesday of each month throughout the winter.
