Brother Sir Winston Churchill
Bro Sir Winston Churchill was born on the 30th November 1874 at Blenheim Palace England, as a child Churchill was sensitive and suffered from a minor speech impediment. He was educated following the norms of his class. He first went to preparatory school, then to Harrow in 1888 when he was twelve years old. In 1912 Bro Churchill became first lord of the Admiralty, the department of British government that controls the naval fleet. He switched his enthusiasm away from social reform to prepare Britain's fleet for a war that threatened Europe. Bro Churchill served twice as Prime Minister the first-time during World War Two 1940 -1945 and then again in 1951 – 1955. Bro Churchill was initiated into Freemasonry on the 24th May 1901 into Studholme Lodge No. 1591, two months later he was Passed to the second degree on the 19th July and n the 5th March 1902 was Raised to the third degree. Bro Churchill’s apron and apron pouch can be seen on display in the United Grand Lodge of England’s North Gallery at Freemasons Hall. Bro Churchill passed to the Grand Lodge Above on the 24th January 1965 and is buried at St Martins Church Baldon.
