You may or may not know that the Channel Islands have close links to the Sarnia Riduna Lodge No 5840 and Caesarea Chapter No 5840 who meet at Great Queen Street in London.
Last month both the lodge and chapter held their Installations with many Brethren visiting from the Channel Islands for what was 2 fabulous meetings where some amazing donations were made to many charities and good causes followed by a fantastic festive board.
Sarnia being the old Roman word for Guernsey and Riduna the old word for Alderney. The Lodge has a very interesting history, Sarnia Riduna Lodge was Consecrated in London on the 17th October 1941, meeting at Great Queen Street, for Channel Island Masons, who had been displaced as a result of the occupation of the Islands during the Second World War.
The Lodge still retains close links with the Channel Islands, as both the Lodge and the associated Chapter, Caesarea were formed during the Second World War for Masons exiled from the Islands with Bi-annual meetings held in the Provinces of Guernsey & Alderney, and Jersey.
