These were fixed to beds and other fixtures within the hospital.
The plaque would have been attached to an item of furniture donated to the Royal Masonic Hospital in 1952 as a gift from the Province to mark the 25th anniversary of R.W Bro Sir Victor Gosselin Carey being installed as Provincial Grand Master and to mark 50-year anniversary of his initiation.
It was returned to the Province in 2001 after the closure of the Royal Masonic Hospital in 1992, accompanied with a letter from the Library and Museum of Freemasonry at Freemasons Hall.
Sir Victor Carey was born in Guernsey on the 2nd July 1871 he was appointed Bailiff of the Island in 1935 and held that position throughout the occupation until his retirement in 1946. He was initiated into Doyles Lodge of Fellowship No.84 on the 12th March 1902, and was appointed as Provincial Grand Master in 1927 a position he held until ill health led to his resignation in 1955, and passed to the Grand Lodge above on the 29th June 1957.
