A vintage boxed model of the tower of the Masonic Peace Memorial 1933 WW1 memorial.
This lovely little souvenir replica of the Tower of the Masonic Peace Memorial made in 1933. It is finished in Silver and mounted onto a marble base. The Masonic Peace Memorial was built between 1927 and 1933 in the art deco style to the designs of architects Henry Victor Ashley and F. Winton Newman as a memorial to the 3,225 Freemasons who died on active service in World War I.
The name was changed to Freemasons Hall at the outbreak of World War II in 1939, at the heart of the hall is the Masonic Shrine, the area known as a vestibule is found outside the Grand Temple and contains a bronze casket that houses the Masonic Roll of Honour, above that is the Memorial Window a magnificent stained-glass window.
The miniature of the Tower is a rare presentation model which is in good condition, with only slight loss to the silvered finish. It is complete with its original box. The Tower stands just 3.5″ high and is part of the W.Bro. B A Foreman PGStB collection held at the Museum.
