Guernsey last weekend had a visitor who has an incredible challenge which started on New Years Day.
The purpose of his 7,000-mile trek is to clear his mind of mental health issues and to raise money for the Masonic Charitable Foundation, which he is convinced saved his life as he struggled through a mental health crisis. On his walk he wants to remain in sight or earshot of the sea. ‘So long as I can feel the sea breeze in my right ear, I’ll know I’m on the right track,’ he says.
Last week Chris was in Jersey and thanks to Condor Ferries who kindly supported him to Guernsey and in his travels across the Channel Islands where he continued his walk and aim of raising £100,000 for the Masonic Charitable Foundation ( https://mcf.org.uk/ ) who do incredible work supporting and helping so many across the Channel Islands, England, Wales and other jurisdictions.

Local freemason Worshipful Brother Andrew Sparks one of whom helped Chris with his time in Guernsey and said “It was wonderful to host Chris in Guernsey last weekend on his incredible journey highlighting mental health and raising funds for the Masonic Charitable Fund who do so much in communities and supporting charities.”
“Chris arrived on Friday and on Saturday we got to show Chris the Guernsey Masonic Hall in St Martins between his continued walk around the UK coastline and he got to meet many local freemasons on his walk and rest stops.”
“Chris has visited so many and masons across the UK who have been helping and supporting him with this amazing challenge.”
“We waved him off on Sunday as he continues raising funds, highlighting mental health issues and his very long walk.”
“It was a pleasure to meet Chris and it was wonderful to meet him.”
During Chris’s visit the Head of Freemasonry and his Deputy often known as the PGM and DPM, Keith Read and Phil Falla accompanied Chris on his coastal walk and he also got to meet many other masons from many of the lodges here in Guernsey.
