Alderney Freemasons Open Days A Success

Alderney Freemasons held Open Days on August 5th and 7th during Alderney week and welcomed 21 visitors across both days. The guests were given access to the Lodge room and invited to ask members of the St. Ann’s Lodge any questions they may have.

Posters advertising the event had been placed widely in local businesses as well as being included in the “What’s On” spot on Riduna-radio.com, the local radio station.

The Lodge Secretary, Brian Chambers was interviewed during the breakfast programme on Friday 1st August by Dougal Bohan when he explained what Freemasonry was and explained the four principles of Freemasonry: integrity, friendship, respect and charity.

Visitors were welcomed to the Masonic Hall on Church Street by members of the St Ann’s Lodge. Bro. Nic Rizutto greeted the visitors on arrival and explained the layout of the ground floor facilities before inviting them to move upstairs where they were invited into the Lodge room by Bros. Haydn Bateman and Brian Chambers.

Some of the visitors were Freemasons who were visiting the island during Alderney week and wanted to see what the Alderney Lodge looked like whilst others were non masons who were interested to find out more about the organisation. The visitors all expressed their thanks for the information they were given and a request for voluntary contributions to charity raised £30.
