Bro Paul Revere was born on December 21st 1734 was Initiated into Freemasonry on September 4th 1760 and died May 10th 1818. Bro Revere was born in Boston. He was initiated into St. Andrew’s Lodge on September 4th 1760, and became a Royal Arch Mason and Knight Templar on December 11th 1769. Bro Revere was prominent silversmith and a patriot in the American Revolution, where he helped devise an intelligence system to keep watch for British troops. Bro Revere along with about thirty others, formed a committee purposed to keep watch for the British soldiers in an attempt to gain intelligence. He and the others would spend nights taking turns patrolling the streets, and held meetings at the Green Dragon Tavern to discuss tactics and share intelligence. In a speech made to fellow Freemasons in 1797, Paul Revere claimed that serving as Grand Master was the “greatest happiness” of his life. Although no one knows exactly what motivated Revere to become a Freemason. Bro Revere passed to the Grand Lodge above on May 10th 1818, at the age of 83.
