Napoleonic PoW tie pin from the same the pin is made of 9ct Rose Gold and like the Jewels, the centre of the tie pin is made from scrap items found around the camps and would be sold to pay for food and clothing, materials used included bone, straw, human hair, paper, and wood, and would have been made by Freemasons amongst French prisoners of war.
The tie pin is in a small wooden block with a label attached explaining it was presented by Bro V. E Luff.
WBro. Vernon Luff was Initiated into Freemasonry on the 15th May 1946 into Loyalty Lodge No.243, was Passed to the Second Degree on the 16th October 1946 and Raised to the Third Degree on the 11th December 1946, he was Worshipful Master of the lodge 1958, and was a founder member of The Guernsey and Alderney Lodge of Installed Masters No.8564.
WBro. Luff held Provincial Ranks of Assistant Grand Secretary 1961-1969, Junior Grand Deacon 1970 and Grand Standard Bearer 1981.
