The Jewel belonged to Excellent Companion A.O. Hamon and is beautifully inscribed on the reverse with the wording “Presented to Ex Comp A.O. Hamon by the Mariners Chapter No.168 as a tribute of esteem and appreciation of his services as M.E.Z 1958-59”
The Jewel is suspended from a crimson ribbon with the three Sceptres of office at the top, Bottom and middle. The sceptres from the bottom are that of the Third Principle Joshua bearing the mitre and is an emblem of dignity. The Middle is the Second Principle Officer Haggai bearing the All-Seeing Eye that is an emblem of Vigilance. And the top the First Principle Officer Zerubbabel bearing the crown an emblem of Imperial Dignity and Power. And in the centre is Enamel of the Mariners Chapter logo.
The Jewel is a triangle depicting Deity, within a circle depicting Eternity, with a Crown in the centre. The Jewel is made from silver gilt, and from the hallmarks is dated 1959 made by Kenning & Son London.
