Made by Martyn Guille Silversmiths it is a circular design with the wording around the edge “In Memory of W.Bro Charles Mollett, Hansard Lodge No. 3515 1961-2012” in the centre is the Square and Compasses with the hammer for knocking suspended from the top.
WBro. Mollett was Initiated into Hansard Lodge No.3515 on the 23rd January 1961, Passed on the 27th February 1961 and Raised on the 22nd January 1962.he held many offices in the Lodge and became Worshipful Master in 1974, he was also Worshipful Master of The Guernsey and Alderney Lodge of Installed Masters in 1995.
WBro Mollett also held the Provincial Ranks of Grand Standard Bearer 1980, Grand Treasurer 1987 and 1996 Past deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies 1990 and Senior Grand Warden 2001 and 2002.
Hansard Lodge No: 3515 received its Warrant on the 3rd March 1911, and was Consecrated on the 31st May 1911, and received its Centenary Warrant on the 30th May 2011.
The Lodge was name after The Right Worshipful Brother Colonel Arthur Clifton Hansard, CMG Past Grand Deacon, England, who was Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Guernsey and Alderney for 17 years, from 1910 to 1927.
The Ceremony of Consecration took place at 5.15pm in the South New Market Hall which had been specially prepared for the occasion. Apparently, this hall had been frequently used for Masonic function on a large scale and was admirably adapted for the purpose.
The Founders of the new Lodge numbered 16. Eight of these came from St Sampson’s Lodge and four from Doyle’s Lodge of Fellowship. Hansard Lodge can therefore look on St Sampson’s Lodge No. 2598, as its mother Lodge. Indeed, for several years Hansard Lodge met at the Masonic Temple at St Sampson’s, just off the Bridge.
