Mariners Lodge Christmas meeting

The first Wednesday in December saw Mariners Lodge No 168 hold their election meeting followed by a very festive festive board.

The meeting saw Brother Steve Goubert nominated as Master Elect for their Installation meeting in the New Year and some very interesting nuggets or talks on masonry and thanks to Brother Matt Tostevin who brought a number of museum items from Mariners Lodge long history to accompany a talk from Worshipful Brother Gary Le Cloarec who gave a talk on Mariners Lodge which is the oldest lodge in the Channel Islands.

After the meeting the Brethren went upstairs to enjoy a Christmas themed festive board which the Master Steve Byrne had decorated the tables and Junior Warden Brother David Downes as he does every year provided a wonderful Christmas Cake to raffle which raised an amazing £200 which was towards the funds to help support the widows of the lodge.

There was a separate raffle with many prizes including the Mariners Lodge famous raffle mug raised an additional £145 which was donated to the great work of Caritas.
