A wooden plaque in the shape of a shield that has attached to it the emblem of the Provincial Grand Master made of base metal and painted gold.
The emblem being that of the Square and Compasses and a star within the centre, and it is far to large to have been worn as a Collar Jewel as is approximately double the size of the one worn on the Provincial Grand Masters Chain.
Not much is known about the item apart from it was located with items that had previously belonged to Sir John Loveridge.
Sir John Loveridge (1912 – 1994) had a very active Masonic career having been initiated into Loyalty Lodge No.243 on the 14th December 1938 and Passed and Raised in 1939, after the five year suspension of Masonic activity due to the war he became the Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1955, he held several Provincial Grand Ranks and became Provincial Grand Master on the 12th February 1969 and held the office until passed away in 1994 having served 25 years in the office.
