This Past Masters Jewel for Victor Carey Lodge No.6892.
This Beautiful Past Masters Jewel was presented to WBro. Charles Joseph Guille Worshipful Master of the Lodge 1949-195, the Jewel is mounted in a wooden frame on dark blue fabric with an engraved plaque underneath.
The Jewel has a bar at the top with “WM 1949-50” the year that WBro Guille was in the chair and the main body of the Jewel suspended from a light blue ribbon above the Victor Carey family crest is the Square and Compasses and then suspended from a ring is the badge of the Past Master.
The Pplaque below is engraved “I.P.M Jewel Presented to W.Bro.C.J.Guille P.P.G.Stwd.First Worshipful Master Victor Carey Lodge No.6892”
WBro. Guille was initiated into Mariners Lodge No.168 on the 3rd December 1930, Passed to the Second Degree on the 2th February 1931 and Raised on the 1st April 1931, he served in several offices in the Lodge including Inner Guard 1938, Junior Deacon 1939, Junior Warden 1946, Senior Warden 1947 and Worshipful Master 1948 it is unknown when he joined Victor Carey Lodge No.6892. he held Provincial Ranks of Grand Steward 1948 and Grand Standard Bearer 1950. He joined Loyalty Chapter No.243 on the 11th May 1958.
Victor Carey Lodge No.6892 which the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master at the time, Sir Victor Gosselin Carey had graciously allowed to be named after him was consecrated at 4pm on Thursday 29th September 1949 at the Masonic Temple Le Marchant Street and was sponsored by Mariners Lodge No.168.
