Prince of Wales being elected Grand Master on the 24th November 1790 Token.

The token has at some point been converted to become a wearable item of jewellery by adding a small ring a t the top to attach to a chain, on the front of the token is the crest for the Prince of Wales and on the obverse a triangle and within that various Masonic symbols along the edges of the triangle the wording “Wisdom, Strength and Beauty and around the the token Latin “Sit et Lux Fuit” meaning “Let there be light and there was light”.

The token is made of copper gilt and is about the size of a two pence coin, the Prince of Wales George Augustus Frederick was born on the 12th August 1762 and died on the 26th June 1830 he became the King on the 29th January 1820 becoming King George IV, and was the Grand Master (Moderns) from 1790 until 1813.
